The news and ramblings of the Lizzie B girls

It’s our first GUEST POST!  And who better, than our fantastic editor, Kent Richards, to post this information from our book’s first “World Tour”.  It has been reported that our Whimsyland book is really making the rounds, and inspiring creativity everywhere!  Here’s his report….

Hi Liz and Beth,

With all due respect, I would think one of the most powerful men in the world would have more important material to read.  But evidently, President Obama received a copy of your book from none other than the Queen of England.  She asked him to read it in preparation for his Royal visit.  She’s a huge, HUGE fan.

She’s already “Whimsyed Out” Buckingham Palace and she’s…well, some think she’s

out of control, but she’s just trying to lift the spirits of her country!

Her Majesty the Queen: “Have you had a chance to read the book I sent you?”

President Obama:  “Yes, yes I did…read it on the ah…flight over the pond.”

Her Majesty the Queen: “I want to rename Buckingham Palace “Whimsyland” but I’m getting some resistance from Parliament. Can you imagine that?I knew they wouldn’t go for changing our country’s name from England to “Whimsyland”, but I honestly thought I could change the name of Buckingham Palace on my own.  I mean I AM the Queen of England. You know my name is Elizabeth too, just like the Lizzie B girls!

President Obama: “Whimsyland’s nice, but this is Buckingham Palace!  Look, I love you to death, you know that, but we can’t laugh our way out of these problems. Tough decisions have to be made. Sacrifices have to be made…

Her Majesty the Queen: “President Obama, we can NEVER sacrifice Imagination, Laughter, Creativity and Dreams. These are the pillars of humanity…they keep use sane in trying times, and inspire use to greatness.  This is Whimsyland 101 here!

england-b-palace-2Buckingham Palace as it appears today. Whimsyland influences everywhere.

Royal VisitShe had been behind this podium many times before, but this time it was different. This time she was fighting for everything that is Lizzie B.

Royal Visit

It was a stirring speech, many believe one of the best of her public life. She talked about the positive messages of Inspiration, Creativity and Dreaming. She talked about the power of Love and Laughter.  And she talked about bologna flowers. The English do love their Queen. In the end, Buckingham Palace remained Buckingham Palace, and the Queen was given a secondary title of “Queen of Whimsyland.”* A small victory, but a victory none the less.
*pending the formal written approval of Liz & Beth Hawkins of Lizzie B Cre8ive.

So there you have it. Now you have the Queen on your side!  I couldn’t imagine a better “Queen of Whimsyland.”  I mean…you are going to approve her, right?

Yours,
Kent

Well, of course we’d be thrilled and honored to have the Queen on our side!
Heck, we might even consider changing OUR name to “Lizzie 3 Cre8ive”, if she wants to be included.  We Elizabeths gotta stick together, you know?
Stay tuned for more of the Whimsyland World Tour.  Kent is on the scene.  Rumor has it that the next stop is… Rome?!

The Queen has always been a fashionable lady. And this is so typical of her. She loves to keep up to the times… Love it!

Perfect! Just a perfect start to my day! I love it. Now maybe we can add some whimsification to more of those political folks in DC it might make them more fun….both for them and for us to look at! Love it!!!!

Dear Kent,
You have really inspired world leaders with the Whimseyland World Tour. I think that all world leaders should wear a cupcake broach. Smiles would play their lips and they wouldn’t be able to stay mad at each other. Kim Jong Il with a cupcake broach? Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with a cupcake broach? Both probably need to eat some cupcakes as well!

Take a trip to Whimsyland : All About Applique said, June 23rd, 2009 at 12:22 pm

[...] A couple days ago I almost busted a gut reading the latest entries on the Lizzie B blog. I was laughing so loud that the DH came in to see what all the hilarity was about. I sat him down and made read about book editor Kent’s ‘World Tour.’ Before long Dana was chuckling right along with me. Here’s the permalink to the first Whimsyland sighting on Kent’s tour. [...]
